Essential Oils Restore Voice

I always refer to essential oils as little miracles from God. They have helped me on many occasions. Here is a case study of one such occasion where I was able to help a young mother restore her voice.

Teresa is a 36-year-old married woman and mother of two children, ages 5 and 13. Three years ago she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She has caused a lot of tiredness and pain in her limbs. A little over a year ago, while living in Vancouver, she began to have problems with her voice. She had had many bouts of sore throat, then one day she lost her voice for no apparent reason and she could barely speak for two weeks, although at that time she had no sore throat.

She saw her family doctor, who referred her to an ear, nose and throat specialist who said she had vocal nodules. They are compared to calluses on the hands. The nodules were large and organized and could be removed with a laser. They told him it was a simple procedure.

She and her family were about to move to California, so she had to postpone the surgery. Once settled in her new home, she returned to BC for surgery.

The microscopic description read: “Sections A and B are similar and show benign squamous epithelium lining the mucosa. The submucosa shows myxoid degeneration and some lymphocytes and eosinophils consistent with vocal cord nodules.”

She was advised not to speak for two weeks, which was extremely difficult for her with a young family to take care of and a personality that likes to express herself.

After returning home, her voice got worse and it hurt a lot to talk at times.

She saw an ear, nose and throat specialist in California, who told her that her vocal cord had been damaged by the laser and was unlikely to heal itself.

She went to a voice surgeon who told her there was a treatment that might improve her voice a bit, but it would take 3-4 months for any improvement.

I spoke to Teresa on the phone and she was desperate. Her voice was rough, she could barely speak and she had to end the conversation quickly. My thought was, “Teresa has had enough to deal with, with the debilitating effects of M/S. What can I do to help her get her voice back and soothe her throat?”

I prepared a mixture of incense, Boswellia carteri (calming the mind and emotions), thyme, thymus vulgaris (tonic, stimulant, antispasmodic), cypress, Cupressus sempervirens (general restorative of the nervous system) and cajeput, melaleuca cajeputi (laryngitis), and I advised him to use it once a day, applied generously to his throat and chest. I also smell a bottle of pure sandalwood, Santalum album essential oil and told her to apply 1 or 2 drops to her throat twice a day.

The results were amazing! A few days later, Teresa’s voice returned and he has not had any problems with her. That is over a year ago now.
