The Opportunity to Really Win (Or Lose) Defined, Outlined and Understood

Recently, I found myself in a crisis that made me grapple again with the big universal questions of life, even though it was a minor crisis, it felt big. However, isn’t that how things are in life? Things can get so annoyingly miserable at times even though the misery is caused by things that are “not that important”. I came to a reassuring conclusion: the only way out is through. This is how I came to that conclusion:

No matter how many shortcuts we take to “do it” or tricks we do with life, as an “ace in the hole”, the payment for what we take is demanded someday and in some way. Therefore, we can also stay legitimate or not cheat, whatever the cost, because we never get away with it. Also, ultimately, we all have the same luck in life when it comes to that too, and reality catches up with us all sooner or later, for the “unlucky” ones, sooner. For the lucky ones, it’s definitely later, though when you ‘easily’ succeed for the first time, it seems like reality will never catch up with you. Make no mistake, nothing is really free, it only seems to be that way if you are initially lucky or “lucky enough to succeed at first” rather than after all the running, work and reality that most success requires. Again, I say in full transparency: the only way out is through, and the only way to legitimately get something “no strings attached” is to genuinely earn it and fully own it. “Chains” only happen when you commit “the perfect crime.” If you are not suffering externally, then your conscience and your internal reality suffer knowing what you really did. Sure, it’s hard to be a true winner, but it’s by last much harder to be a winner who cheated to win and didn’t get caught right away or get away with it for a long time.

Face it, we all really love to win, but who can really “beat” the totally human desire for the shortcut, or the great cheat trick that makes it all easier? Only a select few can genuinely win against those impulses and truly win. That’s why there are so few winners and so many losers looking for the “easy way out.”

Best thing to do: Just do it the hard way, win for real, and own that win.
