The Nokona Bloodline gloves are the first line of Nokona gloves

I like old things. My grandfather says that’s why I come to visit him so much. Although that is not true. I like to visit him because he tells me all kinds of stories. He has lived incredible moments and tells a good story. The History Channel should hire him. Recently, we became interested in vintage baseball gloves. I brought my laptop and we spent an entire afternoon researching vintage baseball gloves. It was fun. Also, I was able to teach my grandfather a bit about computers and the Internet.

We looked at sites that sold vintage baseball gloves and couldn’t believe how many there were. The market for vintage baseball gloves is alive and well. The Rawlings glove was by far the most available. That made sense since the Rawlings glove is the official glove of MLB, but Spaulding used to be. I saw quite a few Rawlings gloves that I would like to buy, but they were too expensive for me. I liked all the baseball gloves, but not the prices.

However, my grandfather was not so impressed. He said that if you want to talk about vintage baseball gloves, then you have to take a look at Nokona gloves. I found out that Nokona was a company that had been making baseball gloves since 1934. They used to make other things, but when the Great Depression hit they started making baseball gloves. Nokona gloves came with a long tradition of quality. My grandfather said that when he played minor league baseball, the only baseball gloves he wore were Nokona gloves. That made those baseball gloves good enough for me.

He went to get his old baseball glove from the attic. He was the coolest baseball glove. He couldn’t believe that he had kept his old baseball glove all these years. We spent a lot of time reminiscing about his days in minor league baseball. He played for many years. Then we talked about him coming to watch me play baseball when I was a kid. I forgot I bought my first glove.

The glove he bought me was a Nokona glove. We went to the store and chose it. I showed him online all the places you could get the Nokona glove now. I couldn’t believe all the baseball gloves there were. He asked me if I still had my Wilson a2000 glove. I told him that I thought he had it in a closet somewhere. I’m surprised he didn’t buy me the Wilson a2000 baseball glove after all the praise from him for the Nokona ones. He said he wouldn’t look at another glove since I saw the Wilson a2000 glove. I didn’t remember that. My grandfather has a great memory.

I had a great time with my grandfather that day as always. Looking at the vintage baseball gloves brought back a flood of memories of his and my youth. I am so glad to have someone like him in my life. My wife and I are expecting a baby in the fall and I can’t wait for the baby to meet his great-grandfather. I’m sure, girl or boy, that he and I will be able to pass on our love of baseball to the baby. Having several generations in your family is something special.
