If they could win the lottery, all their relationship problems would go away. Let’s think about the theory of more money less problems for a second. Would it help you to have more money? Probably yes, but would having more money solve your relationship problems?

Not likely.

Take a minute to think about the celebrity couples with the perfect look, the nice big house, the fancy car, and the perfect love story. These people tend to have just as many marital problems as people who don’t.

The only difference between them and us is that they can go buy an expensive gift to say “sorry” and we can’t afford to do it. These type gestures are simply putting a Band-Aid on a serious wound. It’s a red cake with vanilla frosting. However, you know that her wife’s favorite color is blue and she prefers chocolate cake.

You present her with the cake and she doesn’t seem very excited. I wonder why? You missed all the details! Life is about details. While you feel like you should get a tick in the box for getting the cake in time for her birthday, you totally screwed up by not showing her that you cared enough about her to give her exactly what she likes.
