Spring 2013 Fashion Trends for Plus Size Women

Many of you may still be freezing from the cold weather that is still outside. You may not even want to talk about spring right now, but believe it or not, it’s just a little bit of time. This is the time to start thinking about what to wear in the spring; especially if you are a full figure woman. As with everything in the world of fashion, nothing is new. Most trends are simply reinvented, repeated, or reprocessed from the past. Time to get excited about the upcoming season and current trends; some of which you may already have in your closet.

Many people are already in the planning stage when it comes to their wardrobe. Spring is the time when you will remove the layers of clothing that you used in the winter months to show off your body that has been hidden underneath for so long. So I encourage you to start shopping right away. You can incorporate some of these suggestions below to acquire your spring outfits.

1. The top of the crop
Yes, that’s what you heard. Crop Tops, honey! Many people think that crop tops are only for women with slim waists. Plus-size women with a little girth at the waist are not exempt. You can also rock the top of the crop and even surprise yourself. You better believe it and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You just have to know how to wear it. You don’t have to show your entire abdomen, but you can reveal some belly skin at the top of your waist and still be relaxed and confident. How? You can wear high-waisted pants, such as shorts, a pair of pants, or a skirt. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with this. If you don’t feel comfortable this way, you can add a tank top under the shirt and finish it off.

2. All white colors
Yes, from head to toe in white. The all-white look is taking its rightful place in the fashion world and designers like Vera Wang and Roberto Cavalli are adding it to their spring collection. In the recent past, we’ve seen an overload of bright neon and color-blocked styles; So much so that I think we have forgotten how nice and sharp we can look with a white outfit. Don’t think about what fashion trend reviews think. You can also look absolutely amazing in white even if you are plus size.

3. Appealing to Peplum
Straight from the 1980s comes the peplum look. It has been around for several months, but it fits in very well with the spring season. From peplum tops to peplum skirts, you can look fabulous. It highlights the elegance that is in you and in a woman of large size; hide those curves that you don’t want to show. You can wear the dress with peplum in a solid color or with a colorful animal print. You have varied options because this piece will always be attractive no matter what.

4. Floral, ruffles and stripes
Floral designs will always be associated with spring. It gives you a feminine feel and a feminine look. For the plus size woman, you can wear floral on a pantsuit or blazer. Floral is definitely a must for spring. Stripes will be in fashion throughout 2013. You can wear stripes on dresses, rompers, blouses, skirts, and blazers. They help give you the impression of a trimmer and will give your body a balanced look. During the 1980s, it was somewhat fashionable to dress in color blocks. Well, you can bet he’s back in the fashion rotation. Dressing in blocks of color will prevent anyone from concentrating on a single section of your body. However, your color block outfit should depend on the type of weather you are dealing with.

Last but not least, you should anticipate that plus size retailers will be working too hard on ruffles this spring. Personally, I love ruffled tops and a fun ruffled hem dress, so I’ll be excited to steal some new pieces at great prices. These are the trends you can look forward to this spring of 2013. With them, you will remain stylish and current.
