The benefits of using banners as a way to promote your business can be very influential if used correctly. Posters will always be noticed by everyone, especially if they have a unique design and stand out from the crowd. A good graphic designer can produce a quality poster design at any size. Give them some of your ideas or examples of posters or even website designs and they can usually work with your ideas. The most popular sizes for your banners once your design is finalized are below:
- A2 poster print sizes: 420 x 594 mm
- A1 poster print sizes: 594 x 841 mm
To visualize the size of these I always think of the face of a washing machine or the size of a kitchen cabinet that is 600 square mm. When you think about the size of these objects that you see quite often in your daily life, you have a good idea of how big your posters will be and whether they will stand out in certain positions or environments.
A2 Poster Prints tend to be the norm!
Now that you have your layout and decided on its size, you need to place your banners in the best position to attract customers and in a position where they will stand out. Now this can be affected by the quality of the stock you use. You want a decent weight that, in terms of paper, is under GSM. GSM stands for grams per square meter. Anything above 120gsm will work fine, but for the best quality choose anything above 190gsm. Then you have finishes that include, Matt, Gloss and Satin. People always tend to think that Gloss finishes are the best. This is not always the case because if your poster is in a frame or on a glass window, it will have a reflection that is intensified by the glossy finish. Satin is the best finish to choose, as Matt is a cheaper option than the latter.
