Home remedies for chipmunk that you can try at home

Chipmunks, better known as squirrels, are sweet creatures, but they can also be tricky. They cause a lot of digging and eating throughout the garden and are very destructive to the lawn and garden. Chipmunks are ground dwellers, but for food and protection whenever they need it they climb trees and bushes. They are very alert to danger and are very quick in their movements. They must be removed so that the gardens are not damaged. They can be scared away using certain repellents. But that is not the last solution.

Earlier mothballs were used and proved to be quite effective. But now it is found useless. Researched remedies that will keep these squirrels away include nutmeg and cinnamon, peppermint oil, capacina, jalapeño peppers, serrano pepper, cayenne pepper, chili powder, tabasco sauce, WD-40, aspirin and peanut butter and also the clumps of dog hair. Among these few, such as chili powder, pepper can be placed around the plants and these chipmunks cannot stand these strong spices.

There are commercial repellents on the market that may have a bigger impact but will cost more than the homemade solution. Also fox urine found in the market when used by rubbing on a cotton ball keeps squirrels away as they smell like a fox nearby.

These little furry creatures sometimes make a type of rat hole to get into houses. So having a cat at home can also solve this problem. The simplest method is to assemble a cage out of peanut butter. Peanuts are a favorite with squirrels, so this form of trap works. Another effective way is to use water, and then pour in sunflower seeds so that the water is not visible. And then put a strip of wood against the side to act as a ramp and put some seeds on the ramp. Chipmunks are drawn to the pale, seed-filled water and jump without hesitation. As a result, they die in the water. This is an easy way to eradicate them and most of them can be removed effortlessly.

All these methods are tried at home and one of the mentioned ones will certainly help to ensure that the problem is eradicated. These squirrels cause a lot of damage to the plantations since they damage the plants from the roots and also make tunnels in the soil. They are small, fast and destructive.
