Halloween bonus items and topiaries in FarmVille

Facebook social networking games are known for providing updates regarding certain events and holidays. FarmVille has something special for you this Halloween, in the spirit of the occasion. Along with a number of permanent and limited-time bonus items, a Halloween contest has just been announced.

The Halloween Update

FarmVille has recently released additional Halloween items. These items include decorations such as the Jack-‘O-Lantern, Cat-‘O-Lantern, Plant Monster, Tombstone, Giant Spider Web, Dreadful Fence, and Gargoyle Gate. A new gift item, the White Jack-‘O-Lantern, has also been introduced in the same series.

Before that, decorations in FarmVille were made a bit more interesting by introducing topiaries in the shape of different animals. Of these newly introduced decorations, Cow Topiary, Pig Topiary, Duck Topiary, Sheep Topiary, Llama Topiary, and Flamingo Topiary are available to buy in the market. Topiaries also appear in gifts, which include rabbit topiary, elephant topiary, goose topiary, ostrich topiary, and buffalo topiary.

Following the release of these bonus items, Zynga, the developers of the FarmVille app on Facebook, have just launched a Halloween decorating contest. The contest encourages users to get creative with the spooky new items at their disposal and come up with the scariest farm among all Facebook users playing FarmVille.

The contest requires entrants to submit their contest entries in the form of photos of their farms from October 20-27, 2009. Winners can win up to 500 FarmVille cash and 500,000 coins. Make sure your farm meets the standards so you can enter this year’s Halloween contest.
