Chicago White Sox 2006 Betting Preview

The Chicago White Sox excelled in all facets of the game last season and it was truly a joy to watch. But if it wasn’t for the Cleveland Indians sneaking up on them late in the year when complacency seemed to be taking over, the White Sox might never have captured a World Series ring.

If you were a sponsor of the South Side last season, you probably had a nice holiday with your earnings, as the Red Sox posted an impressive 99-63 regular season record earning their sponsors a whopping 22 units.

One interesting thing to note when looking at last year’s team was their apparent struggle with left-handed pitching compared to right-handed pitching. Despite a strong right-handed hitting lineup, led by slugger Paul Konerko, the White Sox went just 23-21 against lefties on the season. Look for the 2006 White Sox to once again destroy right-handers as they have 43 positive drives in the last 2 seasons against right-handed pitching and should even get better this season with the addition of left-handed slugger Jim Thome.

It will be important to get a feel for the 2006 White Sox before constantly attacking them. Their biggest asset is an excellent starting pitcher, and they also have a rising star in Bobby Jenks. Watch to see if the South Siders continue to fight the South Siders. If they do, going against them against lefties and with them against righties could be a great recipe for success in 2006.
