What is a Biosphere Machine?
A Biosphere Machine is the brainchild of Dr. Christopher A. McCormack (Chairman of the Board and CEO of Global Environmental Energy Corporation). The machine was intended to produce electricity from waste. Imagine a machine that cuts down on the world’s waste while generating another form of sustainable energy, what else could you look for in a piece of equipment.
The Biosphere Machine has been used by different biosphere facilities in the Philippines. The likes of Naga, Tan jay, San Fernando Cebu and many others are already signed on to a zero waste campaign joint venture. The biosphere machine will use the world’s waste serving as its fuel destined to illuminate every light bulb in every home.
How does the Biosphere Machine work?
The Biosphere machine uses a process called the Biosphere Gasification Technology process in which it removes waste through incineration. Incineration is a process that burns waste to produce something else, and due to the way it proceeds, many have opposed its progression. Due to incineration, the atmospheric emissions that the waste burning process throws will tremendously affect the ozone layer, contributing to another cause of malign climate change.
The Biosphere Machine was designed to completely alter the form of incineration that has been used to burn waste. The gasification process used is carried out in an extremely low oxygen environment, which reduces, if not eliminates, the chances of atmospheric emissions; it’s called biosphere technology
The gasification process of the biosphere
1. The process you are using is the combustibility of Municipal Solid Waste to create a heat that produces superheated steam through a boiler, which drives a combined current through a boiler, which drives a combined current turbine/alternator, generating green electricity.
2. It begins in the biosphere chamber where solid waste is entered to begin thermal transformation and bypass a gas turbine/clean fuel stream to produce electricity.
3. The heat generated by the process can be used to produce electricity, superheat steam, heat boiler feedwater, and distill desalinated seawater.
The Biosphere Machine using biosphere technology is expected to be another breakthrough in technology. It’s not something to be ostracized, but it certainly should be given more notice.
