Basement Bar Must Have Furniture – Bar Stools

Turning your base into a bar area is a great way to add a fun room to your house. Of course, you’ll want to make sure you have a great bar with the right lighting and accessories, but one vital item to select carefully are bar stools.

Bar stools come in many shapes, sizes, colors, and decorating styles. Whether your bar is a tropical paradise, a fun and modern retro look, or a formal and elegant take on the downtown wine bar, you’re sure to find a stool to match your decor.

But it is not enough to find a stool that looks good. You need to buy bar stools that are comfortable to sit on and are also the right height for your bar. Also, you need to know how many stools to get to fit snugly around the bar, otherwise it may just be too crowded and not as much fun as you thought.

If you want to have the most comfortable placement of your bar stools, you should think about the bar or pub table with which you will combine them. Before purchasing your set of bar stools, you need to measure the height of the bar under which you will be placing them. Be sure to choose stools that allow ten to thirteen inches between the top of your seat and the bottom of the bar or pub tables in your basement bar.

If the stools of your choice have arms, make sure you can still push the stool under the bar. Bar stools can generally be purchased with seat heights between 17 and 31 inches; however, you may not be able to purchase the specific piece of furniture you want in the required size. You may have to compromise and take home something in a similar style. It is more important to get a stool that fits you and it may not be what you most wanted as fit is vital to the overall comfort of the chair and comfort is key in your basement bar.

As you shop for bar stools, remember to keep in mind the number of stools you want. The most comfortable location for bar stools is twenty-five to thirty inches from the center of one seat to the next. Take a measurement of your bar length and divide it by 28 inches and you’ll get roughly how many stools you need!

Your basement bar is supposed to be a fun place to hang out, so when shopping for bar stools, remember that they should not only be decorative, but functional as well. Getting a good look is important, but getting a good fit is vital!
