Airline catering equipment

Traveling by plane is a great experience and this is due to the care of the plane’s staff. They make sure your flight is comfortable and that you have access to good food so you can enjoy your flight. For airlines to provide you with a good customer service experience, they must have the necessary catering equipment to do so.

Here is a list of catering equipment that can give airlines an edge.

  • Transport car. The cart is very practical for transporting food, drinks and crockery to each passenger. It has a number of shelves, as well as an attached trash can to collect any used or scrap packaging. The flight attendant can easily push and move the cart along the aisle while having access to all items in the cart.
  • Plastic cutlery. Only plastic knives, forks, and spoons are allowed on airlines, so make sure you have enough available for all passengers. Plastic cutlery can be disposed of after the flight by recycling.
  • Cutlery holder. Although plastic cutlery is used, you would still need a cutlery tray to pack them. The cutlery tray separates plastic utensils neatly, making them easy to find when serving each passenger. The last thing a flight attendant wants to do is struggle to find a teaspoon for a passenger who has ordered tea or coffee.
  • Polycarbonate tableware. This is durable dinnerware that can be used repeatedly and is virtually unbreakable. It’s a safer version of standard ceramic dinnerware because it’s made of polycarbonate and if dropped on the floor, it won’t break. They have a glossy finish that is attractive and ideal for airlines that want to maintain their elite status.
  • Plastic cups. It is ideal to use plastic cups on a plane because it can be used as needed and disposed of or recycled after the flight. Also, if it falls it won’t break either. This is important as the plane is moving and turbulence can cause glass to fall off.

Airlines require the correct catering equipment for their service to make the experience enjoyable for passengers. It is important to consider whether the selected catering equipment will give passengers a good impression of the airline. Many passengers remember dinner or lunch service and this could affect the way they feel about a particular airline.
