A healthier and easier way to make yogurt

Yogurt is a creamy and delicious food packed with essential nutrients that make it one of the healthiest foods you can prepare at home. Often, people turn to store-bought yogurt instead of making it at home when faced with issues like yogurt turning sour or watery.

But store-bought yogurt is not a good alternative because it is full of unhealthy additives and artificial sweeteners like gelatin, pectin, etc. And all the good stuff is processed through processes like ultra-pasteurization, etc. Why get an unhealthy version of this great food when there is a healthier and easier way to make yogurt at home?

Here’s a different way to make yogurt that’s simple and produces thick, delicious yogurt in less than 10 minutes, so you never have to choose unhealthy store-bought yogurt again.

The key is choosing the right pot – a non-toxic, semi-porous pot made of pure clay is just right for this purpose! Pure clay is natural unglazed clay and the pot made from it is naturally semi-porous or breathable. This allows only the excess water to evaporate leaving all the liquid probiotics intact. A unique feature that makes your yogurt thicker and silkier, naturally! Plus, it’s 100% non-toxic, so it won’t leak like metal/ceramic pots.

You can make healthy and delicious yogurt at home in less than 10 minutes practical time, these are the steps:

  1. Add the milk to the pot and let it heat over medium heat with the lid on until small bubbles form on the surface. (for 25-30 minutes for ½ gallon of milk) Turn off the stove, open the lid and let it cool until you can put your little finger on it and hold it there for 5 seconds (for 30 minutes). Now the milk is ready to add the culture.
  2. Add yogurt culture, stir and cover lid. (takes 3 minutes)
  3. We put in the oven with the light on. (takes 2 minutes)

Let it incubate for 6-8 hours and the yogurt is ready! The yogurt left in the pot becomes thicker and thicker within a few hours.

How is it healthier?

Yogurt made this way has no interaction with chemicals or toxins and does not suffer nutritional loss while heating. Since yogurt is naturally thick and creamy, there’s no need to strain it! And because it’s made from pure clay (anything cooked in pure clay is seriously delicious) there’s no need to add artificial additives or unhealthy sweeteners like store-bought yogurt. Just a pinch of salt or a pinch of brown sugar or any fruit of your choice or even a pinch of granola…

Therefore, you can easily make the healthiest and most delicious yogurt using the right pot: a pure clay pot.
