4 qualities to win the mind game of motocross racing

If you are contemplating racing motocross then you need to know that it is difficult. There will be a lot of bumps and bruises along the way. You should also know that you will have to be brave, because it will require you to face many of your fears, head on.

Right now, if your fears intimidate you and you freeze up, then it’s time to re-examine why you want to compete. To be prepared and motivated to become a winning runner, you need to know exactly why you’re doing it. This will unlock a great deal of motivation and courage needed to achieve consistent race results.

Keep in mind that your fears will be more exaggerated than the actual experience. Once you learn this, you can let go of fears and take powerful and courageous action to become a successful runner.

To be a successful runner, you’ll have to learn to get in the zone and direct all your energy into what you’re doing. This means fully committing your actions to what needs to be accomplished, right now. Remember, fear has nothing to do with the present, it generally has to do with the future, a possible future.

The Focus skill will give you the ability to focus with laser precision on the task at hand and not let anything get in the way. Concentration is crucial to achieving success in any field, including motocross racing.

When you’re out on the court practicing, this is the time to develop your concentration skills and apply them. Proper control of the bike, knowledge of the track, and knowledge of other riders should be within the scope of your concentration practice. It can be difficult at first, but with practice it gets easier.

Even if you know runners who seem to pick up new skills very easily, and could be considered naturals, remember that natural ability can only take them so far. They, like everyone else, must eventually commit to the development process. This means training, practicing and taking responsibility, both on and off the track.

Through practice, you learn to control your bike over jumps and around obstacles by applying the correct technique. Learning to control your mind is no different. The racing game is 80% a mind game and must be won first, before winning on the track.

Those runners who haven’t won the mind game first will walk away from a defeat destined to leave the race before the challenge begins. Your commitment level to become a champion must be strong enough to take losses at the beginning. Your motivation must be deep and you must constantly invigorate your desire to win.

The more you practice and the more you run, the more you will begin to develop a strong sense of confidence in your abilities. This includes the ability to adapt to circumstances and also includes dealing with some lost runs. Those runners who can bring the highest level of focus in difficult times become champions.

Take the time to develop your courage, focus, commitment, and confidence to the highest level possible, as these qualities will help you win not only the brain game, but the racing game as well.
