4 different remedies to unclog your kitchen sink, shower or toilet drain

There are different remedies for unclogging your sink, shower, or toilet drain. If you have some knowledge of these methods, you can save some extra money by not calling your local plumber. The methods are not as complicated as people think. You can easily use them in your home. You just need to follow the simple guidelines mentioned below.

There are so many things that can cause a clog in your bathtub drain, floor drain, or shower drain. Some of the main causes include soap, toothpaste plugs, or even jewelry. The best and easiest solution to this problem is to use an environmentally safe chemical drain opener. You just have to pour the product down the drain, and when it dissolves in a few minutes, rinse the drain under running water.

If this doesn’t work, check for a problem with the pop-up drain plug. Sometimes it is clogged with hair and debris. So, see if it opens completely. Disassemble the pop-up drain plug and check if it is fully open. If the pop-up drain plug is clear, there may be a problem with the drain pipe behind the wall.

You can use an electric rotary tiller to clear the clog in the drain pipe. Stick it down the drain and try to dislodge the blockage by pushing it down. Insert one end of the cable into the drain. Once the cord is in the drain, twist it. If it doesn’t work, turn the snake clockwise and once you grab the group, do it over and over again, pull the snake up and discard the group.

Another alternative option is to use a plunger. Place the bowl plunger over the drain hole and make sure it has a good seal against the surface of the sink. Use quick, sharp dives to help dislodge whatever may be causing the blockage.
