Underrated but cool US cities to visit

Choosing a place for a mini break seems to be getting more and more difficult. It always seems to be a case of ‘so many places, so little time’. The choice is now staggering and unfortunately there will never be enough time or money to visit everywhere.

I consider myself very lucky to have been able to visit many wonderful places in our country and would like to share some of my experiences with you.

First, let’s go to Tennessee and Nashville. I have had the pleasure of visiting this vibrant city many times and my friend I stay with always takes me out and shows me a good time.

Nashville’s heritage is steeped in history thanks to its long association with the American country music scene. It is also a gastronomic paradise, with every type of food available that you can imagine.

Rhode Island may be our smallest state, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in attractions. Newport and Providence are two exciting cities and make a trip to Northeast America worthwhile.

If you’re taking your short break in the summer, head to Newport. It is very much a beach resort with great sands and plenty of restaurants. Providence, on the other hand, is a very small but beautiful city that can be visited at any time of the year and is very historical and cultural.

Last but not least is the stunning city of New Orleans. Located in the south with evident French influence in both its architecture and Cajun cuisine, a trip to this fabulous and vibrant city is a must if you can handle it.

I hope this has helped in some way to make your decision easier, wherever you decide to go, travel safe and have fun.
