Romantic Words and Phrases in Spanish – Just for Lovers

Today we will learn some romantic words and phrases in Spanish. I had originally planned to write this article on the weekend that Colombia celebrates “El Día de Amor y Amistad” (the day of love and friendship). In Colombia, the celebration of “El Día de Amor y Amistad” is like Valentine’s Day in the United States.

I gave my “girlfriend” “chocolates” and “roses.” And a “teddy” (stuffed animal).

The “stuffed toy” was a “Smurfs stuffed toy”. Do you know who “The Smurfs” are in English?

“Los Pitufos” is the Spanish word for “The Smurfs”.

The weekend of “The Day of Love and Friendship” we “walked” (went) to a “pueblito” (little town). So I couldn’t send the email then. And considering that Latinos have a reputation for being passionate, intense, and hot-blooded lovers, an email covering this topic would be appropriate for “El Día de Amor y Amistad.” So here you have “10 romantic phrases” that you can say to your “boyfriend/girlfriend”, (boyfriend/girlfriend), “lover” (lover), “husband/wife” (spouse).
