Promote events like an MLM Rockstar

What is an event?

To be successful in network marketing, you must master how to promote events. Most people underestimate the power of events and their businesses suffer as a result. To understand the importance of events, you must know what I consider an event.

An event is any type of conference call, presentation, training, webinar, or representative meeting that is bigger than you. Events allow prospects to see more of the company and the opportunity.

Why promote events?

One of the reasons to promote events is to give people a chance to see the big picture. Whether they meet with you alone or with you and another representative, they don’t really know how big the opportunity is. They don’t fully understand the impact the business has had on other people’s lives.

They certainly don’t fully understand what the business can do for them yet, so you need to get them to attend an event. The best way to get them to attend is to promote the event.

How to promote events

Learning how to promote events is a requirement for a successful MLM career. I like to tell people that you have to learn to promote like Don King. One of the key elements of event promotion is using the “fear of loss”. Keep in mind that people will always do more for what they stand to lose than for what they stand to gain.

Incorporate statements like “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to meet…”, “I don’t know when there will be another meeting like this”, “This guy is like the Donald Trump of this industry”, “I’m not even sure I can put you on on the guest list.” You want to make the event worth your time by promoting it and making it sound like it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Now I know you might be thinking, “Isn’t that going overboard?” My answer is “absolutely not” if you want to be successful in MLM! All the top earners in MLM are master promoters. Here’s a secret… I attribute much of the success I’ve had in network marketing to event promotion.

Teach your team how to promote events

Once you learn how to promote events, you need to teach your team members how to promote events. It is not enough that you are the only promoter. You also have to get your team to do the same; that is the only way you will create massive momentum in your business. Teach your team the power of fear of loss and also the words that move people to action.

Instruct them to incorporate phrases like “One Time Event”, “I only have two VIP seats left”, “Only a select group of people will be added to the guest list”. These are prayers that get people to change their plans, commit to attend, and then actually show up.

Why the promotion works

When you promote correctly and so does your team, everyone will have guests at events. Guests now see the big picture and hear testimonials from people with similar professional backgrounds, family backgrounds, health issues, financial challenges, etc. who have been successful through your company. Often this is just what the prospect needs to make the decision to partner with you. For reps who haven’t logged on, events are also good for rejuvenating them.

Once you learn how to promote events, you’ll be well on your way to massive success in the MLM industry.
